Trollfjord Cowl and Hat Set

This Fair Isle hat and cowl set is a perfect first project for new colourwork knitters. Using just two contrasting colours of Embla from Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk in Norway (or any other worsted weight yarn), it’s the perfect marriage of Nordic pattern and classic design.

Yarn

Embla from Hillesvåg Ullvarefrabrik, 2 colours x 100 grams per colour is
enough for both cowl and hat.

We used the following colours:

Colour 1: Grey 326055

Colour 2: Red 326013

Needles

One circular needle length 60 cm / 24 in, size 4.0 mm / U.S. size 6

One circular needle length 60 cm / 24 in, size 3.5 mm / U.S. size 4

Gauge

21 sts and 24 rnds to 10 cm / 4 in

Finished Measurements

½ width measured flat over the colourwork: 35 cm
