The Gradiente Poncho is knit holding 3 strands of Manos del Uruguay’s laceweight Marina at a time for a relaxed gauge on larger needles - the resulting fabric has a smooth color transition and a drapey feel.

Finished Size

Approx. 33¼” wide and 18” long

Yarn

Manos del Uruguay MARINA (100% superwash merino; approx. 874 yds/100 g)
1 sk each of A (dark), B (medium), and C (light).

Shown in N7593 Steampunk (A), N8891 Nostalgia (B), and N9217 Log Cabin (C)

Needles & Notions

US 10½/6.5mm needles, or size needed to obtain gauge

Removable markers or scrap yarn

Tapestry needle

Gauge

16½ sts and 23 rows = 4”/10cm in St st using 3 strands of yarn held together.

Notes

The back and front are identical.

This project is worked with three strands of yarn held together throughout.

To help with knitting 3 strands at a time, instructions are offered on winding the skeins or for another approach, we have a chain-ply tutorial that includes images for illustration of the technique.
