Easy Folded Poncho by Churchmouse Yarns and Teas

Our favorite poncho transcends the trends. As a friend from Peru wryly observed, “Where I come from, we’ve worn ponchos for three thousand years!” It’s easy to knit (just one long stockinette rectangle), easy to finish, and easy to throw on. We think it’s like a really elegant sweatshirt.

Poncho with cowl:

3 balls Berroco Remix Light;

6 skeins Rowan Felted Tweed (191 yds/175m each);

Or approx. 980 yds/896m of an equivalent dk-weight yarn.

 

Poncho without cowl: 

2 balls Berroco Remix Light; 

 5 skeins Rowan Felted Tweed (191 yds/175m each);

Or approx. 840 yds/768m of an equivalent dk-weight yarn.

US 6 - 4.0 mm
